National and General Reports on the two subjects selected for the year are assembled by Central IFA and these are published in the “Cahiers de Droit Fiscal International” (“Studies on International Fiscal Law”) in English, French, German and Spanish several months before each congress and these form the basis for discussion at the annual congresses. Members may also purchase books, which are published by the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD), a non-profit research institute which was set up in 1938 and which acts as the official organ of IFA.
Two "Cahiers de droit fiscal international" are published once a year and distributed free to all members of the Association. These "Cahiers" contain a wealth of domestic and international material in dealing with the Subjects to be discussed at the following Congress. They comprise IFA Branch Reports together with a General Report on each of the two Subjects selected for the Congress of that year. The "Cahiers" are an invaluable source of information of lasting scientific value for any specialist interested in international or comparative fiscal law.
The Cahiers are also available in E-pub format as of 2011. The Cahiers in E-pub can be downloaded from the secured part of the IFA website.
As an extra service, online versions of the IFA Cahiers 1980-2012 have been made available on the website of IFA's sister organisation, the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD).
IFA members in "good standing" (i.e. having no arrears in their annual membership fees) can access these publications free of charge via the secured section of the IFA website. New Cahiers will be made available on the Internet as soon as they are available, i.e. annually on 15 June.
